Enjoying the journey

Greetings!

I took a deep dive back in 2011 when I was starting a boutique vanilla extract business and was really impressed with the amount of knowledge and information here. The distillation of neutral spirts really consumed me. However, after all that reading and planning I got around to the legality side and learned that a license was about $45k. There was no way that was going to work in my business model so I shed a tear and bought bulk from the store.

My interest never left and I would occasionally come back for more reading. Now I’m officially starting as a hobby distiller. I’ve re-read with a focus on pot stills, made pages of sketches, and sourced a keg and various copper parts. It’s been an interesting road and I’m enjoying the journey.
