. I just finished making a copper shield for my thermowell, now I'm wondering if I need any of it. This probe placement is for the take off for the VM. I was planning on putting it in the center of the tee which was the reason I made the shield to protect it from the reflux falling. My fear protecting the probe is that I won't get a quick enough reaction to temperature change even though I fill it full of thermal mastic. Putting on The takeoff side of the tee I think will also cause a delay.
What sayeth the herd ?
Or should I put it in the center of the tee naked under a half copper pipe?
