New controller help

Looking to upgrade from my current controller. I was thinking about picking up this d.I.Y kit from Auber. https://www.auberins.com/index.php?main ... cts_id=955 But I have questions. Do I have to use a temperature probe with the DSPR400? Currently , I have a temp probe at the point of no return , but it's analog. I only use it to tell when i'm getting close to producing and to see what temperature i'm at when I shut down. Basically I start monitoring at one hundred and stop around two hundred fahrenheit. Do I have to have a tip probe in the pot? Or can I just not use that feature? I like the bells and whistles that this kit offers plus the added feature of being able to use it when I get into mashing. My current set up is a two hundred and forty volt PWM with a fifty five hundred watt element.
