I'm probably not the first to try this, but I haven't seen this mash bill done yet. It seems all mash bills containing corn only use one type. So, I wanted to try something different. Freedom Bourbon - using Jimmy Red corn, White corn, and Blue corn.
Not sure if the taste of the different corns will mix n mingle, or if they will even be noticeable. Either way, should make a nice sipper for 4th of July.
Any thoughts or recommendations are welcomed. I'm still grinding corn and malts, and got to get a couple more coolers for the mashing, so it will be a couple days before I put a fire to it.
Current plan for mash bill:
50# white corn
25# blue corn
25# Jimmy Red corn
20# wheat malt
15# 2 row barley malt
60 gal water
shooting for 1.068 SG
Also, I have safale s-04 yeast I was going to try with this one. I haven't used it before. Opinions on yeast choice? Temps should stay around low-mid 70's for the next week or 2.
