I shut down a whiskey run that was low wines with a couple gallons of mash in my keg still several months ago. I don’t even remember exactly when. It was still hot outside.
I never drained the boiler.
It’s been sitting there with exposure to atmosphere through the top of the CCVM head until this morning.
I opened the 4” port and shined a flashlight in.
Half the fluid was gone and the top had a white mold that had a bumpy/bubbly look.
It smelled kinda like grape.
I drained it but had to break up the cap and dump/flush it out the 4” port.
It had the consistency of a weak rubber.
Kinda kicking myself for not saving some of that fluid now.
Maybe I should have saved some of that….
