air cooling system

I have to date been very lazy and purchased almost everything I need to build my still (not yet complete), but I have a water restriction, no supply, no drainage, and I have been thinking …

I currently use a 4-litre water distillation device which air cools the distillate so why not expand this and use the idea for the 36 litre still I have ordered.

I will of course have wasted $45 on a 450mm 8-barrel shotgun condenser but using an 8mm, 10mm or 15mm copper spiral with copper fins enclosed in a column with a small homemade air conditioner at the bottom and a fan to draw that cold air up the column, I could produce a waterless cooling system. The only real question from my side is how long does the coil need to be.

What say you?
