How certain are you of your numbers? That's 480ml of pure alcohol per day. Which is 48 units or 3.5 times the weekly recommended maximum intake. I'm a very light drinker but even in my heavy drinking days as a student I would have been completely non functional had I been even at half of that amount.American newbie wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 8:42 pm Brother you have an issue. But let me start with I drink 600 mil of 160 shine a day. Don't come down this path. I unfortunately don't get hangovers. I'm drinking now. I actually got into distilling to have a consistent source. It is a demon.

That's why I said don't go down this road. I'm sure about my numbers because I distill and test my own. It can be a dark path

Try to get help if you want/ can.
I've seen the end of the path you're on and it's not pretty.

I too have seen what lies at the end of this path, my brother in law died in his early 50s when his liver packed in, leaving my sister and his 2 still young sons behind.
It was not a pleasant way to go.
He drank a couple of lagers, a bottle of wine, and usually 2-3 shots of whisky a day, every day.

At one point one of my half-brothers was drinking a fifth of vodka every night. He returned to work working with saw blades and cutting tools feeling fine. Luckily he recognized the damage he was doing and hit up AA. He is sober for 17yrs now but it wasn’t easy and he had to work at it every day for 12yrs. It can be done.American newbie wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 8:42 pm I drink 600 mil of 160 shine a day. Don't come down this path. I unfortunately don't get hangovers.

It's easy to form the habit. I was drinking way to much, but i never got drunk. Just drinks spaced out for hte day. Dr did blood work on the annual, and my enzyme levels were off the charts. Said i'm in for a rude awakening if I keep this up.
Dialed it down to just before bed, 100ml and a beer every night. I say it's to help me sleep, and it is. I skip a night here and there but i don't sleep more than 4 hours. With 100ml and a beer, i can sleep for 8 without an issue. I don't like it and have tried other sleep aids, without success.
My enzyme levels are still a bit high but way down from what they were before. I do like my drinks, but i don't like the dependence. But I need to sleep because I need to work.
It's not ok, your'e slowly poisoning yourself. And by the time you really start to feel the effects, it may be to late. If you need AA, go get AA. I don't consider myself to need AA because I've seen people with true addiction and i don't feel anything like those guys. Maybe I'm kidding myself.

I use to believe the drink before bed was a sleep aid.
Today I am 4 weeks into of a 6 week period when I annually abstain from alcohol. This year I can definitely tell the I am better rested. No need for coffee in the morning to overcome drowsiness. When I resume, I will limit my drinking after dinner as I feel so much better.

Getting intoxicated daily even if it seems that You can function will eventually take it's toll.
