Re: first build.
Nice set up, have you planned your first mash yet?
I think I'll go home and fire up my still, it might not make me feel better but, I bet it will

Re: first build.
It looks fantastic mainejuice78, Having a large diameter fill port is an excellent addition to your keg boiler.
Having a centre drain is very convenient also.
A simple pot still can make you some top quality hooch...

Re: first build.
I like it . The pieces you bought look like a good and simple way to convert a beer keg boiler and 1/4 keg to make an awesome Pot and thumper . Lots of Copper . The Pot head replicates the old moonshine stills . Not sure if that will transpose at hobby level , but why the hell not .
The mods you are doing to your keg although not mandatory , are going to be really helpful .. Nice job

We love looking at builds.
Maybe, weld a 2" ferule on the kegs bung.
Also make sure the clamps will fit without interfering with each other before welding.

Re: first build.
thanks everyone. so a build update.. i scraped the 6" build. took the plasma cutter to it and turned it into a mash pot.. too much welding will be needed to make room for the two clamps to be able to work. so i went with 4" cap and now there is plenty of room.
