Damn Samohon -- I look down at the bottom and it says it's still you and Tater's birthday. I got drunk off my ass yesterday in your name and about 10am this morning I was thinkin I might have another drink by Wednesday but, low and behold, I find myself in the clutches of another round of UJSSM -- mixed grain reserve. I guess I'll dedicate this one to Tater. Happy Birthday Tater -- again.

I had a problem the other night -- bottle ran dry and the wife proclaimed, "you mean we're out of the one I like the best". Luckily, I pulled a half-gallon from the liquor locker and it had rested enough that it was an adequate fill-in. Problem solved.

Started off tonight with my favorite, 100% barley with 20% peated, aged in oak barrel, charred, medium toast. Smooth with just a hint of smoky peat and barley sweetness. Following that with a nice bourbon made with a little rye and barley to smooth out the corn. 50%abv poured over ice; as the ice melts and dilutes the spirits I get a different taste profile with each sip. Vanillins and carmels from the wood have combined to make an excellent drink.

I had the privlege of receiving, and enjoying, a pint of MM homegrown, handemade, artisanal sugar-cane syrup. It was fantastic drizzled over homemade biscuits and pancakes. Thanks again MM.

The leftover jar makes a dandy drink holder as well.

Your very welcome, there is plenty more where that came from. Mason jars are the "fine china" around my house as well.
