I believe the cooler temps should keep the snakes out of my stilling shed.

I believe the copperhead that came to check out my still last night made me almost shit myself.

I believe I will have a machete with me on my next run.

I believe I hate snakes.
But what the heck do I know.....I am still learning.

I believe a machete may be the weapon of choice in this circumstance.. Holy Crapola a shotgun fired between 2- 4 buckets of wash could have been a distilling disaster. "Nip" the problem in the bud as our favorite crime fighter (Barney) used to say....

Oh yea its gotta be a machete. For one thing I'm a night owl. I work nights so I'm at my best in the middle of the night and that's when I run usually.

But mostly I just feel like a badass when I carry a blade that big around.
But what the heck do I know.....I am still learning.

"A dead snake is a good snake!" Quote scribbled in my dog eared second hand copy of the Boy Scouts of America manual. That belief has served me well for more than fifty years...

The statement overheard in a small Scottish pub, " Moderation, aye, that is my motto. Nine or ten is reasonable libation, but after that it is likely to descend into drinking."

I believe a machete is to short causing me to get WAAAAY to close to any kind of snake. I believe a garden hoe, with its extra length is what this ole boy would use.
I believe i aint got time to run in the hose and google what kind of sneaky snake has slithered its self up into my yard, therefore all snakes must die upon contact. then, google the body to figure out if it is whatever it is

I believe snakes ain't out to hurt me even the venomous ones so I just leave them alone and they help keep the rodent population out of my grains and house. I also believe it is worth learning to recognize the 3 or 4 venomous ones that could hurt me just in case one should mistake me for a rat.

I believe if I see a Copperhead in the stillshed, I will be using my Shotgun or AR 15, which ever is closer.
Y'all use what you want, but I'm going with heavy artillery when it comes to snakes.
By the way, that's a Summertime sport in Appalachia.... Cruise the country roads at night and Shoot Copperheads and Rattlers. Love it.

I believe the same about Copperheads. One almost killed my favorite hound (avatar). I let the rest go about their way. I also believe that the Saiga 12 would be a little overkill so I stick with a .22 for the pests.
