I spotted it just laying in the dust in the boiler room, asked and they said take it away. Didn't even ask what I wanted it for. Lucky.

I made mine 2 years ago. 24" of 2", with (4) 1/2" tubes. I knock down all of 5500w with a trickle.

Let us know how that works for you. I have an antique coffee grinder from the 1890's that I was using and worked great other than it was hard to adjust. I didn't want to take the chance of wrecking it so I bought a MonsterMill 2.

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
That coffee grinder of yours was a beauty..never seen a more patriotic one! I skimmed HD for as many "coffee grinder" threads I could find and the majority of them said they were very satisfied...so I went for it. Turns out I was the only bidder at the first asking price...Bushman wrote:Let us know how that works for you. I was on the fence about making a motorized mill like a monster mill with a 3/4 hp engine but this popped up. For the price I decided to throw in a little offer and BAM... done. This is a bit less expensive and time consuming than building so I will give it a go.
I will use it for a while and put together a small thread about it and its mods as needed. Maybe get all the commercial coffee makers to drop in and post as well.
Thanks Bushman!

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
A friend had made an 80 litre still some years ago. Sold it for about 60 guilders to another friend, who sold or gave it to another. Two weeks ago my friend and the owner met and he was ready to sell it. So now I have a 80 litre all copper still with electric heating and a Liebig cooler. For a crate of beer: EUR 19.
Some cleaning, some repairing, but my friend is glad to see it again and will gladly help me to get it running again.
I can ferment in it, do a stripping run and then do two spiritruns with my 10-boiler.

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
Just purchased this stainless steel 5 gallon Milker in Minot, ND and it's in excellent shape for $30.00. Stay tuned as it is either going to be a thumper or a 5 gallon still for essential oils.

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
About to loose my freaking mine. Went by one of the home brew shops that is close to my home to buy some ph strips and some citric acid, because I had plans on doing my first boomers all corn today. Well the guy is closing down the home brew section and is blowing out everything at 40% off. So I got over 150 malts which include 60lb of base malt, 50 lb of rye malt, 50 lb of malted wheat, and 30 lb of honey malt. Planning on going back for some special b and some other special malts all at .50 cents a pound. I got all this plus 3 storage bin for $125. Still didn't get them ph strips lol.

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
Ss water heater, 25$
Not sure what I'll do with the water heater yet, it's 30 or so gallon with 2-1" holes and 1-1.5" hole in the center. Maybe a horizontal boiler? So many possibilities but who knows, I just couldn't pass it over

Jimbo, I was surprised to see the decanter in your photo - the one with whiskey in it. I have one identical to it. One thing I've learned is that you can serve skunk piss in something like that and get rave reviews.Jimbo wrote:Scored a couple really nice whiskey decanters for 50 cents each at a garage sale this morning. There was also this big ass crystal shaker in the box, thrown in free. No idea what its for, folks who REALLY like salt or pepper maybe? It makes the decanters look small, but they are fifth and liter sizes.

I wouldn't of left it behind either! That stuff is hard to come by when trying not to buy new!
Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
You got a good deal! You paid $30,00 a foot, on eBay if you do the calculations it is listed for $3.49 an inch which = $41.88 a foot plus shipping.

I think 10ft of that is going to take up too much space. You better hack off 5 ft and send it to me for safe keeping.Hound Dog wrote:10' of 3" type L copper. I did it. I finally did it. I found molasses in bulk. 66 cents a kg. it's a 2.5 hour drive from home but with work I've been passing by it atleast once a month. Just bought 74.5 kg yesterday. I see a few barrals of rum in my future.

Is that dry molasses?yakattack wrote:I did it. I finally did it. I found molasses in bulk. 66 cents a kg. it's a 2.5 hour drive from home but with work I've been passing by it atleast once a month. Just bought 74.5 kg yesterday. I see a few barrals of rum in my future.
Sorry, I get confused when people talk about molasses in kg. I'm sitting here trying to convert kg to US gallons
![Crazy ](./images/smilies/icon_crazy.gif)
Either way, good job! There is no replacement in rum for real molasses. Panela, from what I tasted, does make a smooth, tasty when young rum, but that deep flavor comes from straight molasses. Do have to age it, though. But worth it in the end

Congrats!

Nope. Its liquid molasses. Just sold by weight. So 75kg is aproxx 60 litres. That will get put up tomorrow morning or later this evening.
