Hey Tib:
Back from loads of business travel and family vacation. I quick SEARCH and I re-found this thread on your August get-together.
Are you talking up activity discussion? topics?
1) Just reread MichiganCornhusker's steam stripper rig thread and I'd love to see his mentor's setup (yours) with build explanation!
2) I think we could repeat the MAKIN' CUTS Training from Jedfest's event.
3) I also think it might be cool to ask someone with a TIG RIG to bring it and maybe we could do an afternoon session of cutting ports and welding ferrules into our boilers, thumpers, steam chassises, etc.
BTW, I mentioned some long time ago I'm in for August, so you can count on me. I'll bring the SUV with a mattress and probably a big room tent to have some room to sit around in.
4) we ought to start a list (forgive me if its already on previous posts) of what we can bring to the party foodwise.

RandyMarshCT wrote:Hey all, sorry for the late reply. Me and the Mrs will be there. Rager, still a go! Wish I had more offerings to bring, but I've been hell-bent on making beer lately. I may be able to pull off 2 last minute rum runs (final strip & spirit)... the spirit run is too big to mention around these parts, so if it's good I may have some gifts for everyone. If it sucks, I'll leave it all home for the oak.
Looking forward to this very much!
Randy , lack of spirits will be my problem , too . Continuing health issues has caused me to lose several ferments . If the last batch (gen 4 UJ) doesn't pan out I'll have to go to the 'poke store' . I've got an all feints run to collect in 1/2 pints for a cuts seminar . Kind of embarrassing
![Embarassed ](./images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)
I'll try to fill the gap with hospitality .

varocketry , I will have none of my stilling equipment on the place during the party . Be glad to have a show and tell with diagrams and theory . TIG class sounds interesting enough to talk about and see what the others think .
>Given the distances some folks are traveling , bringing food is not required . Bring your preferred beer and likker or we will take to to town to stock up when you get here .

Hells bells, you're being a kind host. I know how much work it was for Jedneck and Woodshed to HOST a bunch of folks hanging around their cabins for an extended weekend.
We can stop by your local Piggly-Wiggly to pick up assigned fixins on our way in.
If there's a DONUT place anywhere near, I'll volunteer to make a morning run! Hahaha

Your mention of doughnuts reminded me of Jed's home-made sticky buns.... and then that reminded me of his pumpkin butter... ahh memories!
Speaking of memories, I'm also thinkin about that pepper jelly TB... hope there may be a little left. I need to eat some breakfast, I'm lusting over food right now and I'm supposed to be working.

OK , sent directions to several people via PM . Found that there is a limit to how many people you can spam in 1 PM . Those that get it let me know and I will catch up with the rest one at a time .
Answering a few questions : Tim Horton Doughnut Shop 7 miles from the house via mostly back roads . Opens 5 AM and closes 10 pm . 2 miles past TH's is a mall with Giant Eagle , Wall Mart , and Sam's Club . We have a Sam's card to get you in there . Beer brands that can't be found there might be found at a large store in Morgantown proper .
>UPS delivered me 50# of dried beans this week . That will feed y'all for a while
> Venue :
Friday :
Visitors are welcome to arrive at their convenience . We'll get you situated as you arrive . Supper will likely be simple hotdogs , beans , and other convenient items that can be served at any time .
Saturday will be the big day :
New arrivals will be situated as they get here . Breakfast will be at a time convenient for all . Snack foods will available all day . I'd suggest that store runs get done in the morning . The afternoon will be visiting and what ever else we think up . A farm tour can be done and there are 2 or 3 bass ponds for fishermen . Supper will be BBQ and trimmings .
Sunday morning we will have another informal breakfast . Stay as long as you can and leave when you have to . ENJOY YOURSELVES .
>This is the first party we have hosted for other than family in many years . Can't think of a better group to have in . If I left anything out just ask .

Is this a sanctioned S3 gathering?
If so, we could update JIMBO's S3 T-Shirt design that I updated for Jedfest last year. I don't know how many people would have any interest in a S3 Truckorama shirt.
PS 'Sanctioned' is an attempt at humor .....

Well, I no longer have to fly. SOH bought a new vehicle and if i can swing the time off work it's a go . . . looking better all the time to making it. It's an 18 hour drive without stops from me, but if I can swing the time off i'll be going.
TB, just wondering what the grounds are like, and is this going to be "kid friendly". My oldest is wheelchair bound. Not a problem for a bit of bumpy terrain, but if there is much mushy ground it could be. Not sure if we'll be tenting or checking in a hotel if we are able to make it yet.

Moosemilk , we built our ground floor handicap acessable , including the bathroom and walk in shower . The yard proper where we will be socializing is level so;id gravel drive and solid yard with awnings for shade . Tenting areas can be driven to or by navigating a short stretch of sloping rougher ground . There are 3 shallow steps to get into the house from the patio through double glass doors that both open .

I like the idea . If others are interested too , SOH and I will each sign up for 1 .
