So true if I could get my corn to turn out half as good as my panela washes I would be happy

Are you using enzymes or adding malted barley? Or both?

Oh - just looked at Cash & Carry and found Bobs Red Mill cornmeal for $13 / 25Lbs.
$52 / 100Lb is a good enough deal for me.
Sorry about hijacking the thread and heading into corn territory again.
Gotta get me down to C&C.

Just got a note from Jason, looks like we can buy another load of Panela if we have enough interest.

PM sent just bottled my first go at rum after over 3 months barrel aging. To be honest I am pleased it was not quite as smooth as my Jamaican Appleton Estates 12 year Reserve but close. So I am doubling the order I had last time. Heaven for bid so many things to make and so little time!

Sadly I haven't yet gotten around to using my first order

So much else to be done, so little time. I did use some panela in apple pie filling and it worked great. Today we made Ham for Thanksgiving and used panela and local wildflower honey on it and it was excellent. I'm really looking forward to getting around to a batch of panela rum one of these days.

I've got 15 gallons Panela rum aging in a barrel and have very little left of the rum that went into the 5 gallon barrel in July.
Good stuff, jump in there guys and get some Panela rum aging!
Cranky, I know you will be busy but good work using the Panela in your Thanksgiving meal! That's some great tasting stuff!

Any idea when you will place the next order and how long it will take before delivery? Might be fun to have everyone that purchased last time get together and have a taste test of each other's product.

I'd love that!!
Jason has to get back to me, and we are having additional interest from some folks who didn't get some last time.
I will keep everyone up to date as I get information.
Yes getting together and sharing what we've made so far really does sound like fun!

If it's coming from Florida, it's ready to go anytime.
Not sure about the west coast supply.

The only problem I expect is back pain.

Oldvine Zin, I am guessing it will be delivered to your warehouse again? Maybe when we set up a time for me to pick it up we can trade a bottle of rum?

Yes, to confirm it is being delivered to the same address.
Thanks to Oldvine Zin for this, it would be much more difficult if not impossible otherwise.

You guys should all have private messages.
BTW I opened my full Oola barrel full of Panela Rum tonight.
Although it needs more time to smooth out it's really good.
Having a glass watered down to drinking proof right now!

A lot of dedicated members here in the PNW

Nerdy woke up this morning and no new snow but it is still predicted for today so I will send you a PM in an hour to let you know if I am driving down to pick my panela up.

Lots of snow here but once I get to the freeway it's good.
I'll be at the warehouse at 1.

Will leave here at10:30 should give me enough time to get there by 1:00. Iam bringing a small bottle I just proofed from the barrel and a few shot glasses to share. It's only been in the barrel for 3 months so it is a bit young but I think it is pretty smooth.

Me too.
If you have glasses then maybe I'll just bring one.
I'm bringing Panela rum that's been in the barrel about the same amount of time, it's not as smooth as I'd like but it's still good.
I've got a foot of new snow outside, I'm tempted to use it to temper the rum - might be interesting!

The extra weight of the panela in the back of your car should improve your traction in the snow - lol
