She's pretty, did you vent the parrot?

I am adding the vent today, I have an idea of using the vent as a brace also. I just have to attach the vent tube.

Ya I have vented the others I have made as well. you have to get the vent above the bottom of the graham.

Here is the maden wash run after cleaning runs. shotgun dephlagmater, Valve plate on the bottom, the perforated plates. I just need to repolish, add sealer the ship this baby.

Honestly I really don,t think it is necessary . you can tell when you hit the tails because it will just go to drips.

Yours will have more plates, you will have 6 instead of 4. I ordered your parts Friday. Then sent me any email that some of the parts were back ordered and should be shipped out in 4 days. In the mean time I will build the dephlagmater, parrot, and some other things I can be working on while the other stuff comes in..

this might be a stupid question,,, but how do you control the temp under the deflag??? via heat input,,, or via reflux??????

Yes.

But I recon you will gravitate to the CM rather than the PM

With the dephlag in full reflux, mine stabilizes at 78 degrees celcius, temperature is controled by the water flow to the dephlagmater.

I just adjust mine to 79 degrees, and I get product flow, there will be different temps + or - depending on the position of the temp probe, and the accuracy of the thermometer calibration.

i use a temp gun... do yall think that this would give the same measurment? anybody got both to see?????

mine runs at 79c also. The 002 that I ran today set at 80c?

I've been thinking of using a 1/2 needle valve on my dephlag ( shotgun) for a bit more control but I'm not sure if the flow rate would be to low for the knock down at the start.

A needle valve would probably be a bit of an overkill to control water flow, a ball valve works well and a lot cheaper than a needle valve.

congrats RC, sounds like your gonna like your flute.. after you have run it a bit the dephlag will be easier to adjust. Glad to hear about your success.

awsome!!!! i like the unions on each side of the condensor... i uses compression fittings. i havent had any problems from them,,, but if i ever do, im gonna hook myself up like you did.

Nice job there RC thanks for sharing. You guys seem to be using a smaller graham condenser than I do, how much coil have you got in there, or are you using your shotgun on this rig.

I think you did a hell of job there RC.. looks good man.. I like the union to attach the Parrot... It think that is a great idea....
Spooky I personally like the unions over the compression fittings too. I seem to have had better luck with them.

the Graham condensers I am using are from 10-14 inches. The work Great. These things are really efficient.

Mean Mother Flute

Another FLUTE will be up and running soon with a bit of luck "and a ship load of help from OD"

Well this is what i have been up to, I collected all my bits and pieces, Cut my pipe to length and Silver Soldered the SS ferrules on, I made the plates by splitting and flattening a length of 3" that i had, I used a hole saw and my pedistal drill to cut the plates out, I Tig Welded a 4" Ferrule to a old Keg that i acquired, This flute is intended to be a modular build, The lower section is 700mm and will have 4 plates in it for flavored spirits, The top section is 800mm long which will have 6 plates, Hopefully this will produce a good clean neutral. OD is going to make the plate tree removable so at a later stage if i so wish i can experiment with other plate designs. The MMF stands a near 3mtr's tall looks like i will need a step ladder to see the top plates.

Wasn't too far back that some folks round about figgered this design would not work at the hobby level.

Proper would be 95 or better,,,,,one assumes.

Ah HA now i understand, Well we will find at about the versatilaty of this modula FLUTE design real soon i geuss, I recon it's gunna be a winner I wasn't having a dig at you i just didn't understand what you ment.
