aw, shucks. (head down, kicking dirt lump around)

glad you like the idea, but you gotta know for sure that original thoughts are pretty rare for me. I'm pretty good at fluffin things out but without you all and your contributions there's no way i can keep up with anything interesting. It'll be awesome if we can keep throwing new twists and turns in.

i did have a thought (lucid moment?) today though... how about some original music to fit into it? one you fellas with a black les paul maybe throw an audio clip up on it? can that even be done on a forum? multi- media on- line novel... art, words, music, photos...are we pioneering something with that or has it been done?

The results are much more dramatic if you use a .22lr . I think I have already 'splained how I know this to be fact

Seems like the HD Novella is going well - them fed's gooses are cooked. A sobering ride in Flatwoods truck has brought cooler heads to bear and the plot against the feds has thickened. What could possibly go wrong?

Took a guy huntin for a big buck the other day. I set him at the head of a big draw where we had caught several big bucks on trail cams.
When I left him I told him not to shoot anything smaller than a 28 buck.
I had just got to the bottom of the draw to start up through it when I heard a shot from where I had left him.
One shot means one dead buck. so I turned my horse and back up I go. when I arrived. The hunter was sitting there with sweat running down his face and a dead squirrl at his feet.
I said what the hell did you do. This is the best draw in the county and you blow it on a squirrl.
He looked up and said listen I sat here and let a rattle snake crawl across my feet and did'nt do anything.
I sat here and let a mountain lion eat my lunch no big deal.
But when that squirl came after my second nut I let him have it

Been cutting firewood, trout fishing, hunting ground squirrels for a neighboring rancher, riding my horse, flying RC toys, did a run of UJ and got into a horseshoe tourney just for fun. Otherwise, just been sitting around doing nothin'.

That was my thoughts, but it does remind me of a situation that happened to me years ago.

Every year I would drive 7 hours to pick up my mother and bring her back to our house for Christmas. With coffee for the road and a healthy breakfast this always meant I had to make several stops to get home. We were probably 2 hours into the trip when I needed a pee & dump break. I pulled into a gas station sat down on the toilet and immediately felt a cool mist hit me on my underside. Thinking it was strange I went on about my business and finished using the TP. Walked out to the car started it and as I was pulling out with my mom all of a sudden my ass was on fire. Squirming in the drivers seat I got nervous and made a U-Turn. Went back into the bathroom to see what was wrong. Upon investigating the toilet I found someone had set one of those packets you get in the restaurants with hot sauce. What happened is when I sat on the seat it was strategically placed on the the part of the toilet seat that lifts it off the bowl so the weight of my body forced the packet to explode hence the cool mist feel on my underside. The TP just compounded to the problem and for the next 5 hours I had one of the most uncomfortable rides of my life.

These days it's a custom Ruger 10/22 with a dot scope and long mags. Pure carnage.
The rancher follows me in a Jeep with an old cooler doing collection duty. The carcasses go to a good cause elsewhere.

Yeah I moved up too! Also Ruger 10/22 with custom barrel and a 30 mm BSA scope 1-5 zoom. It is a tack driver .

Been only able to drop in and out during my move but did get, no take, a minute to hunt Monday evening. I took along my new homemade crossbow. It was made with springs from a boat trailer and an aluminum receiver and stock. I use a bow press to load it with a solid aluminum bolt machine threaded for a tipand 5 inch fletching. Shot a 6 point buck! Not too impressive until you understand I shot through a 4 inch maple then through the deer and 4 inches into an oak tree ! Had to abandon the arrow but the buck was within 15 yards. Went through so fast half of his lungs were strung beyond where I shot him and the tree the arrow impacted! I think I need to sell these but they may be too much for most common folk to have, perhaps will even require a special permit to carry !
