It was made with springs from a boat trailer and an aluminum receiver and stock. I use a bow press to load it with a solid aluminum bolt machine threaded for a tipand 5 inch fletching. Shot a 6 point buck! Not too impressive until you understand I shot through a 4 inch maple then through the deer and 4 inches into an oak tree ! Had to abandon the arrow but the buck was within 15 yards. Went through so fast half of his lungs were strung beyond where I shot him and the tree the arrow impacted! I think I need to sell these but they may be too much for most common folk to have, perhaps will even require a special permit to carry !

That is too funny! I bet it will take a special permit to carry it, also some big muscles. Sounds like it is going to be more of a flatlands set up

These days it's a custom Ruger 10/22 with a dot scope and long mags. Pure carnage.
The rancher follows me in a Jeep with an old cooler doing collection duty. The carcasses go to a good cause elsewhere.

What's he doing with them?.... Baiting hogs? Just a thought.
The "catch" goes to a local raptor rehabber to help her defray feeding costs. Win/win.

Yep , good news . I do what I can to help the raptor rehab groups here .
Little less friendly with DNR that says we 'Got No Cougars in WV' and then makes it illegal to kill a cougar in WV ! Go figger The 4 individuals my FIL has on his game camera do not exist and therefore will not be missed by DNR when they 'dissapear' from FIL's game cameras .

We could spare a few cougars around here.
A few years back they passed a law banning the use of hounds on bear and cougar. Now we have lots of those sweet innocent little creatures and hardly any deer or elk. They captured three cougars inside the city limits, after they were snacking on goats in some dudes back yard. The fish and game department took them away and killed them. Of course every body was up in arms about them not being relocated. Ugh.
I backpack, I mountain bike, I road bike, I am pretty much moving bait! I have seen a few close to town last year. I just don't have a gun with me when I see them. I will get one soon!
On the news today. Bear cub in rite-aid store! Ha!
At least I have tags for both bear and cougar.
There is no such thing as a stupid question....... Unless you didn't research it first.
funny how life imitates art imitaing life. I been working up a scene for a few days, and y'all go and post this before i had time to peck it out. now you gonna be accusing me of plagerism.

Amazing how we were thinking along the same general story line. But I wasn't thinking of a cougar.

Same thing when I lived in Pa. Two old retired wardens up around Potato City swear cats were stocked up there by the game commission back in the day but won't talk publicly about it for fear of losing their pensions .

Yep . Possum cops are the same everywhere .I helped reestablish Canada geese and wild turkeys in my area in the 1970's . Was a long time later that the longtime friend (DNR honcho) admitted to me that they had also stocked coyotes and cougars . We fell out when he told me about their helicopter restocking program for rattlesnakes .
>If a critter does not exist in a state ; why would that state's DNR make it illegal to kill that particular critter ?

>They say we have none in our county , yet , 2 years ago they opened a season on them in our county .
>I hold the word of a possum cop in lower regard than that of a politician or a chicken eatin preacher .

I was going to start hunting so I bought a cross bow. latter found out its illegal to hunt with a bow in Scotland and that id have to switch to a sling shot. as apparently they are more deadly and apparently more accurate .
on another note ive not been able to read any of the novella, it is blocked by my works network

*edit im really impressed with the story so far. get it turned in to an ebook over time and all profits go to the legalisation effort.
then sell the film rights and help with the education on the hobby

its 1am and im finding it hard to stop reading gotta be up for work around 7:30 ish. i love the way that its has the depth of real life in the way that every one is driving the story in their own direction so there's an abundance of twists and turns keeping you on your toes. most of the things ive read have only really pushed in one direction lacking the chaos that is an individuals free will. i loved the musical accompaniment to the posts after Corene at jimbos. i was laughing out loud at the points where the jar needed to be changed . kinda torn between the want to add a passage or 2 if i can come up with anything and the story coming to a post by post bases .
