I don't have any trouble with powercuts either, I have got a solar array on the roof which produces more electricity than I use.

Plenty of room here, there is a mining boom here at the moment, the guys are earning $46 per hour, they work 12 hour shifts and get paid $46 for 8 hours and $76 for the next four, there are a few millionares working on the minesites.

Woke up to about 2 inches of snow. They've shut the city down! Still can't get used to that.

When I retired I said to the wife, "Wife, we can move anywhere we want, they'll mail the checks to us." She hates hot and wanted to move to northern Michigan. I hate cold and wanted to move to Arkansas. So we are still here where it is 90 and humid in summer and 15 and snowy in winter and we are both miserable. But at least we are miserable at different times.

Braz. Sounds like your in about the same zone as me. Northern MI? Hell, you wont only have to deal with a cold winter ,but them boys get a hell of a load of snow up there. And you know which one of you would have to deal with that. I cant stand the heat and humidity. I can always put more clothes on. Its the damn snow and Ice that is the killer. Dont get me wrong. I like chopping wood in the fall, keeping a roaring fire up all winter, dont ask me why.... I think I might be slightly mad

As soon as I grew old enough to leave this frozen world of mid-America, I moved to southern Cal. Live there all my adult life. Then once while home on vacation, my wife and I noticed how cheap houses were here. We decided we could build a new home here, shoot when it got too cold outside we wouldn’t go out. When it got too hot we would stay inside. YA, RIGHT. When it snows, and freezes all living things, the poor dumb bohunk is outside scooping snow, when it’s so hot your blood boils, the poor dumb bohunk is outside mowing the lawn. I tell you guys life is not easy when you’re a poor dumb bohunk

Today was a first for me snow, lighting, then followed by thunder (I've never seen this at the same time). Several wrecks on the interstate coming into town this morning!

The other day on the morning news program was checking the social network, one comment, It's WINTER, suckitup, might as well enjoy it, while dealing with it. I live in a rural area of Quebec and know how it feels, no power, no heating,etc... I've found it more fun finding ways to deal with things than sitting around feeling sorry for yourself. If it is snowing put your boots on and grab a shovel, maybe your neighbor needs some help.

Almost all of the local schools were closed today... That meant that the other half didn't work, nor will get paid for, today... And the customer I was lined up to see today decided to stay home with his wife, who also works for a school, and children, whose school was closed, so my income stream for today was also pretty much shot... I'm ready for Spring... Damned lake effect snow...!!!

Schools have been closed here for two days and H*** the roads are clear. We got MAYBE 2 inches. I moved here in '75 from Colorado and Wyoming. The first winter it snowed and I thought I was going to die laughing. Idoits are drivin' with either the pedal to the metal or the brakes slamed down hard. I learned to drive with 2 feet of snow and petal to the metal and brakes down hard was just for FUN!!

I moved out west from back east and all it takes is about 2 - 3 inches of snow and this place shuts right down. I was in the grocery store and the elderly lady behind had a cart jam packed with food. I started joking around with her and she said she was loading up in case it snows. It's 8 degrees Celsius!!
