1 lb of wheat germ and 10 lbs of candi sugar all smoked on cherry wood. This is about 8 hours after pitching. Thank goodness for blow tubes.

Hi Ricrellim, while researching how best to handle the DWWG wash I came across your post Re Smoked Sugar and the photo you posted showing the blow tubes on your carboy. Where did you get them they look awesome for handling an explosive wash like the DWWG. Also going to have to learn how to smoke grains and sugars too.
BTW I'm fairly new to all this and have only done straight sugar washes up to now but I'm ready to move up and am looking at improving my equipment so your Blow Tubes have got me thinking.
Any help you can offer would be great.

I just went to my LHBS and said that I needed a 4' blow off tube. It was about $1.50

Thanks for that. As my name suggests I am in Ireland where nothing works and if you want anything even a little out of the ordinary you've got to import it! It wasn't always like this - just since the banks

screwed us over.
I've tried every HBS in my country and a few others around Europe and none have even heard of them

.
Thanks again - I'll keep looking

if your looking for "blow off tubing" it is just 1" / 25mm vinyl tubing.
you need about 3 ft/1m or a bit more.depending on your set up.
smaller size can be used but then you whould need some sort of stopper.

Thanks for the replies guys but no joy in Ireland unless I buy a 30m roll
It's mind bogglingly difficult to get anything like that here

Homebrew is not all that common here so I usually end up having to buy everything online from neighboring countries but even that is proving negative in this case.
Back to the drawing board!
