How do you keep your water cool?

Vapor, Liquid or Cooling Management. Flutes, plates, etc.

However, if you are just looking for a way to cheaply get cool water, I would encourage you to look at how your water billing works. For me, the city charges a bunch of fixed fees every month. And the incremental cost is less than a $0.01 per gallon. So it is cheapest for me to just use water from the tap. Plus it remains a very consistent temp. Plus I can use it to water lawn/flowerbed with the run off.
I am renting but when I move I look to having a pool to have a pool. A buddy that has a pool just drops a submersible pump in and chills his wort. Very handy. I expect I'll use tap water as you suggest for now. Where I am at now they charge twice as much for waste water as the potable water. So $0.01 for the water and $0.02 for the water processing for a total of $0.03. They only measure the potable side and assume they have to process it again as waste. I haven not calculated the actual per gallon rate using your example. I have lived where they have water restrictions with teared levels, screw you rates at the top, and threats to shut your water off for using too much. It's hard to shake the mind set.

So, go brew and distill at your buddy’s.....he has plenty of “heat sink” reserves for you. Sure, it may cost you a drink or two. But when you’re looking for alternatives, don’t overlook the one right in front of your nose!

We now live on different coasts in the states. He tried to get me to promise to get a boat when I moved. After I got here I told him he should have said to get a pool....
