A local favorite around my area of the USA is deep fried hot banana peppers.
These are usually made by halving and deseeding, then battering with onion ring batter and deep frying.
I also like the "Bloomin' Onion" from a restaurant called "The Outback"

Problem is, once you get done with one of those onions, I'm too full for the rest of the dinner.

Scotch Eggs
Boil and peel eggs.
Mix 1/2 & 1/2 breakfast sausage and spicy Italian sausage. Add cracker crumbs till it resembles a thick paste. Cover the eggs with the sausage (1/4 inch or so thick, then deep fry them in small batches.
Really yummy, and you almost feel your heart slowing down as you eat them.

Forgot about this post.
Wwelllll...i dunno, can handle a few of em in tempura batter, the missus thought they were nice, and the neighbours were so-so.
I think it's gotta be something you practise eating, like vegemite.
I'll cook em again next time we have a party and try em on a larger cross section.
That bloody mayonaise was tops though, will definately be trying that again. Just made it with storebought mayo to cheat, but yummo
Thanks BB

My wife loves them, I can eat a couple and then I am done. The thin sliced ones are a bit better I think than the spears, but not by much. I guess because the thinner ones are crunchier.
Around here everyone seems to dip them in ranch dressing and the batter seems to be a cornmeal style batter, kind of like a catfish batter, but with some cayenne added to it.
