I was for 8 years. Office worker that is. Not clean cut. I haven't been clean cut since I got out the military. I've been back in the field for 4 years now.

This may be the first someone has used the word quiet in a description of me. Contemplative maybe.
Sinewy for sure. 5' 10", 150 or so. Forearms like Popeye's so I have been told. Shoulder length hair getting greyer by the day. Always a certain amount of facial hair. How much depends on the season.
Saw a pic of jimbo once. Could not really see his face well but I was pretty close to what I saw in my mind. Piss has always been the classic biker to me. Rad has always made me think of Ginger Baker.
Would have never guessed the rascal flats look for Red Rim. Always pictured someone like me.

Woodshed, I am not as plump as Rascal flats but definitely on the heavy side for a climber at 5'9 185 lbs.

It all depends on what I'm wearing. It could go two ways. Classic biker or hillbilly. But usually its the biker. I need to get me a few pairs of bibs and a straw hat. Then I will fit in where I'm going. LOL

I get a lot of women that clutch their purse. And move fast away from me. I don't know why?

Most that meet me for the first time think that I am either Amish with a long pony tail or Jesus.

HDNB : my picture is of a somewhat tall (6'2ish) and solid, serious when needed but also a carefree heart of a child side when he wants to have fun, and a deep but friendly voice.

Myself, well 20 years and a bit ago I was compared to "meatloaf " (the singer). Long straight hair feathered and parted in the middle, leather jacket, Levis...but didn't weigh as much. look nothing like that now thankfully!

I get the same thing. Have had people get out of cars and come over to me. Only to find I wasn't who they were looking for. There is only one person here on HD that would know what I look like, although we have never met. And he probably doesn't even know it.

But maybe he has figured it out.

Heck , I am just grateful to be mentioned with this great group of people, a wonderful compliment. I have only seen a picture of one of the mentioned folk here and was totally surprised by the photo. Myself, the strong and seasoned part is pretty accurate but not so lean anymore. time is catching up quickly

Moosemilk, I still hadn't worked up a visual of you yet, except for the stereotype for everyone from the great white north. Which is of an old school logger or mountain man, bearded, longer hair, flannels, not Nirvana stile flannels, but the ones that keep you warm. Living in a remote cabin driving a beat up truck. Ha! Once again stereotypes!

Corene1, I feel your pain! This last year, I went from having an impressive build, to an impressive beer belly. My wife gives me hell for it everyday. Ugh. Maybe it is time to lay off the beer and drink more whiskey!

Awesome! Despite the stereotype, a good friend of mine had spent a good deal of time in both Anchorage and Barrow, he is one of the most educated, refined people I know. No beard, no long hair and I need a dictionary fer all dem big words him uses.

Don't be too quick to judge the flannels those guys wore. One of them grew up a poor kid in a logging town and those flannels came from the same place where all the loggers shop...at least they did before all the fame.

Funny you should say that, I spent the late 80s and early 90s in Shelton and Port Orchard. I am very familiar with Aberdeen and Hoquim, the place where Nirvana came from and you are very right, they wore authentic lumberjack/fisherman flannels. I guess what I was getting at is, the wave of people dressing to match them. I believe everything about Nirvana to be authentic, namely, a garage band making it big,singing about what they believe in.

We know you have a lot of knowledge and I for one would like to learn from it, however, I would like to read statements about scientific information, personal test, using real life circumstances to prove our hypothesis. Let's please keep the name calling and confrontation to personal messages.

I see the members as their avatars. If they have no avatar, I just see trhem as their names. Some kind of wierd synesthesia?
The one member I met looked absolutely nothing like what I imagined him looking like (I expected him to look like his avatar), and I think the same was true vice versa.

Had another meetup last night with Windy City, Midwest Shinner and and met halfbaked for the first time. Halfbaked didnt look at all like I imagined. But was great to meet him anyway. haha. Had a good time, Its rough getting home at 2AM on a weeknight tho. Ugh.

all i know for sure is jimbo recently got a haircut, (it took some years off for sure!) and it looks like he hit his thumb with a hammer!

Red Rim, Sam Elliot does look a bit like me.

Goose eye shocked me a while back when he was quoting from the Wall Street Journal. As said earlier your can't judge a book by it's cover, sometimes you can't judge a person by their chosen writing style as it may change depending on the forum they are on!
