I can't speak to your panel... Looks like you have space for a couple more single pole breakers.Durhommer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 5:41 pm 20190927_183834-1.jpg anyone want to give me the easy way to adding a 20 amp circuit breaker to this can I condense some of the existing to the tandem style breakers I just want to get more power to my new site as its on a shared 15 amp my thoughts were to get a single pole 20 amp breaker from local hardware store 8 bucks...100 ft 14 2 romex 40 bucks a cheapo plastic j box 3 bucks a 20 amp outlet 7 bucks a outlet faceplate 98 cents.someone please tell me if if that wouldn't work just off the pic and what I said
However, nowhere I'm aware of is it allowed to use 14 gauge for a 20a circuit. You want 12/2 minimum, maybe more depending on how it's run (see derating).

Oh and what I think you are referring to as tandem breakers are two pole 220 volt ones?? or do you want to add new peanut style breakers to add more spaces? looks like you have plenty of spaces left in that panel but maybe not much extra power available on that 100 amp panel.
and as just an anal electrician thing, that white wire coming off of that 30 amp breaker upper left should be remarked as a black, whites are neutral only.

Dur there is room already, just knock out out the space on the panel cover and put in your breaker. 14ga>15a, 12ga>20a, 10ga>30a

Re: Is there an electrician in the house...
I'd put a 20 amp/30 amp quad tandem if you need to create space in the panel.
Pull the bridge off of the 20 amp pair.
Use the 30 amp pair with #10 wire and fire your kettle with the higher voltage,,,,and get some life back.
You'll be at running temps in 20 minutes or less.
You may not have a large enough panel to run the entire household as well as your kettle. So just manage your usage is all. Don't run your clothes dryer or oven when running the kettle.

Yea man and just generally be careful! Not sure your level of electrical experience but reaching inside a panel can be a dangerous, deadly place if you’re not sure what you’re doing.

Look to see if there's separate buss-bars for the neutral and ground wires.
If there is use 12-3 with ground
Why 12 3??

Ok so after sweating like a dope feind I got a 20 amp circuit to my garage now to build a mash cube out of 2 inch insulation board that way I can ferment up to 120 gallons at a time ifn I wanted to
