Ah, so that's essentially a y valve with two outputs and I need something with two ins and 1 out? I was thinking it would close the connection either way... Any suggestions?

Yeah, switch contacts don't have polarity. I think this is what you've got in mind, right?

You could replace the ckt bkr with the switch. You already have overcurrent protection in your breaker box.

That's a pretty special switch. This one should work.

Your "napkin scratch" would require two input circuits and two different cables, connectors, breakers, etc.

But skow's schematic "pulls" 110VAC from the 220VAC circuit. So only one breaker (220VAC) is needed. And only one power feeder to your circuit.

Right. But I'm trying to be versatile so I can use 110 OR 220. Not both at the same time. I understand that you can pull 110 out if a 220 as described in some of the builds for fans, etc.
I would like a male 110 on the back of my box and a male 220 so depending on where I want to run I can choose appropriate extension cord and switch the circuit to corresponding power input.
