valve ruflux still questions

Post by Guest »

Hi, i've been reading this homedisteller.org for months, and i finally got around to taking a shot at building a valve reflux still (following moonshinestill.com's design)

I've gotten most of the materials to make it, the only thing i'm missing is the 2" copper pipe, i cant find anyone who has any. I found someone with tons of 3" but no 2". Anyone know a good source for it? I found one online sight who sold it, but their prices were astounding (around $50 for 3 feet of it).

Also, i'm kind of confused about a few things on the still itself. Am i right in assuming that the 3" condensor shell dosnt have any cap at all on the top? I dont see any mention of that in the plan. If so, whats the reason for that? I've also seen people make mention of using a double helix condensor coil, how do you go about making these?
