Greetings from the balrog cave in the ethanol forest.
As you are all aware, a wicked witch passed an evil spell called 'Minimal alcohol pricing' in Whiskyland
, it poisoned the whisky well at the bottom of the balrog cave so the auld balrog had to dig a new whisky well.
Now after much reading, digging, turbo brewing, basic fire water making with turbo brew, it is time the auld balrog learned to make his own brew. At the moment, the cave has two fermenting bins, cider for the Corny keg as Whiskyland balrogs also like fizzy cider, and another with just a basic sugar, tap water, Lalvin EC1118 yeast, some wine acid blend and nutrients. This will soon be fire water so the auld balrog needs to move onto the next stage of this hobby, making a flavour containing brew.
It was while digging in the whisky well that the auld balrog found a wonderful magical device, it could turn brews from sugar and yeast in water into fire water. A air still, very basic but it works. The auld balrog planted rowan trees around the newly dug whisky well, the wicked witch of Holyrood must be kept from casting spells on this whisky well. Anything to stop her and the evil poison tax from spreading its disease all over the ethanol forest.
The auld balrog also found another magic portal while digging in the whisky well, a door to the HD forum, contact with other like minded creatures of the ethanol forest. The auld balrog soon found that this portal also gave a map to show where the most valuable mineral vein in the ethanol forest could be found. Knowledge. The auld balrog soon found this mineral vein, a wonderful discovery, instantly changing the chain of thought of the balrog for the better. Balrog soon learned to ditch toxic turbo brews, that they made fire water but also made other nasty tasting stuff as well, maybe the evil witch has cast a spell on it, balrog must make own from scratch.
Using the magical portal to open the doors to the ethanol forest, the balrog soon learned from the other inhabitants of the ethanol forest that it would be easy to make his own brew, adapt it for his tastes, basic but easy to learn from, build upon in the balrog quest for single malt whisky to flow from the whisky well, poison tax free
Using the oracle called The google, the auld balrog soon managed to get hold of some magical bags, in them was some flaked maize, flaked wheat, and some crystal malt. Pity that teleportation has not been invented yet, balrog must work on it, until then, where is the postie, hope the centaurs and unicorns that inhabit around the balrog cave, have not got to him first and eaten my goodie bags.
Now would be a good idea for the auld balrog to get some sort of plan in action, learn what to do with these contents, what else does the auld balrog need to make some alchemy happen, enzymes, water, other chemicals or organic products for pH, trace/micro elements. Best to get the list ready and get hold of said materials before needing them for a start.
What procedure must be followed, Full Moon tonight, what rituals to follow, from opening the bags to getting that first stripping run done, what must be done, and in what order
