to be technical the metal lug part (screw in part) of most of your water heater elements are not stainless either. (try sticking a magnet on one). I'm assuming these parts will always be submerged in your wash during use, there may be some acidic issues but the parts are not coming in contact with your vapor path. I'm considering this set up also at least for a temporary set up. I'd be interested to hear from other people who have used this bolt on method for their elements. and what kind of corrosion or rusting issues they may have had with the adapter and the element base for that matter.

Re: electric keg help
I haven't had one rust through yet and have built several. My original pot using the adapter plate never rusted due to the nickel plating.

Hi allpintoshine wrote:I can help a bit with the hardware part. Here is the instructions for a weldless water heater adapter solution.
I hope this helps. I have used this many times without any issues. Many of my friends have pots (ss stock pots) built this way.
Let me know if it is helpful. I generally used the bolt ends that are left hanging to mount a plastic box with the back cut out to cover the whole thing. Left over bolt threads can be cut to length.
long time since i been distilling but about to start up again, need to build a new boiler
can anyone tell me if these weldless heater mounts are available in Australia? and where to get one / two. i have looked around but have not been able to find them
hope to get brewing before the xmas rush stocks are getting low.....
