It's sad people like this selling unsafe garbage to the uninformed people. One day someone will hurt themselves with these unsafe stills it's a wonder no one has sued their asses off. Their day will come

Hi
As to reputable supplier I could not go past Alex at
http://www.ferromit.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
I purchased a N25 from him and the performance was exactly as described. Stripped at 3litres per hour at 100 proof and produced 95% spirit at 1.5 litres per hour all for AUD470. He is located in Australia but I understand he supplies all over the world.
Great product great service what more can I say.

Im one of those sad cases. They suckered me out of $279.95 and sent nothing. Thats alright, I know who they are and where they live. I was looking for a cheap still to make fuel with but all I did was redistribute my wealth to some two-bit shysters.
If anyone has a good reflux still in the NC area that I can can take a look at and deal with you FTF send me an email. Im done ordering anything off the internet.

Lordy, radi4701 from the looks of it they lucky they didn't rip you off. I don't think I'd care too much to have a naked porch-sittin
hooch-drinking shiner draw a bead on me. And why don't you build yourself a proper outhouse instead of that contraption you got on the porch?
Update on moonshinerstills.com
I guess I must have pushed the right buttons.
This a.m. I got an email from Jack with the usual excuse about having to move and the phones were down.
"We had to move or shop and the phones and internet was down. We are back up and running Phone and internet are back up. You order will be shipped today!
Sorry for any problems we have caused,
Thank You,
Jack"
No reply about my question of "If the phones were down, why did you hang up everytime I called and asked about my still?
Whether he sends a refund or not, it doesn't matter because I learned that even though I used a debit card, my bank can recall it because it is a Visa debit card.

OK so just my two bits but this needs to be posted under the reading section etc.. This is the same still i asked questions about just the other day. I have also got a friend that just ordered from the bootleggers company and has already been given a excuse on why it has not shipped. He is not going to like reading this when i show him tomorrow. I am glad i have held off and been doing my research. Seems HD just saved me a couple of bills. So thanks but this needs to be a post that all new comers see.

Hmm This has been a good read, I was thinking about buying from them a long while ago, and was like screw that Im to impatient to wait for some dude to build it and ship it. It seems to me the main reason why people have been ordering from them was because they were impatient and wanted there still here now.

But I am just thinking here that if they say on there site that it would take 30+ days to get your still (Well if they feel like building and shipping it), I can think that if your build just a simple pot still with a Liebig condenser and solder one joint a night it would take maybe two weeks to build one.
Now I wish i had saw this thread when I lived in Colorado or Ohio, they didn't seem to be too far from me. I would have gone and served them a little stop being asshats warning, I think two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan has prepared me for a few hill jacks with pea shooters.
Alls that i can say is that hopefully they drink to much of there own product form there shoddy stills and get too sick to continue to scam people.

Sorry to hear about the lack of customer no service!
Thanks for pointing them out, I was looking at them too to buy, but decided to go with others.
All of us here should call them to place an order, and then have them spend some time going through all the questions.
Then ask oh, by the way are you the guys I am reading everywhere that don't deliver after paying!
No thanks Ill go shop somewhere else!

BEWARE of bootlegger stills!!!!! I orderd in November and only got the runaround and BS from that day on. I did get my money back from the cc company. After Jack gets your money and your ship date arrives,he will no longer answer your calls or return voice mails.

My friend just got one of those mini pot stills and my god what a ripoff. My build is all most done , did copy a few elements of there design, but cant wait to finish my build to show my friend what he could have for 1/5 the cost and 10 times better. Please dont waist your time or money with them clowns.

All,
I just joined to share some info back since I was helped.
I found you all last night a few weeks "after" I ordered. I JUST called the current website number and Shirley answered and literally said that her partner was hurt in an accident and they have not been able to get anything out. I have at least been expecting the 'welcome package' very fast because how long does it take to mail something really? Reading last night that they are just reselling free information was my first turn off and then reading about lead testing and breaking down the still and remaking it was the final straw. I called to cancel since I have received absolutely nothing but they have my money, well the banks money. Since I work in the credit card industry I always pay by credit card for the added protection and know the ropes. She stated it would be "credited back this afternoon by her partner". While my experience was not negative to this point reading through this forum post made me realize that I should just learn to make my own device thus to give me more appreciation for my result and to learn something new while saving money too, although it comes at the expense of my time. They currently use Authorize.net and their merchant descriptor is "DISTILLING SCHOOL" so anyone willing can call this processor directly and file a complaint although I encourage you only to do it if your order went thru them and you were 'wronged'. I do hope this information helps as this groups knowledge surely helped me in this early stage of my adventures. I'll be coming back to the forums for build designs in a few weeks so any recommends would be helpful. Thanks again!
Sobers

I have to agree with this forum. Wish I had found it "before" I ordered form Bootlegger Stills. I have sent numerous emails with no response. Started getting the voice mails with no call backs, and then today, "Shirley" answers and says she is taking Jack's calls. I explained my frustrations on not receiving my still and the lack of communication. Shirley's response was "she would let Jack know, that is not how we run our business". I proceeded to inform her of all the negative forum feeds I have been reading to which she responded " we have had nothing but problems with Jack's former partner trying to sabotage us". When I called her out on specifics I have read on this forum she had no response and said she would have Jack call me. I asked if that would be today and she wasn't sure. I informed her if I did not get a response today I would be cancelling my order and requesting a "FULL" refund. Nest thing I heard was a dial tone. These folks are definitely bad-bad business, they sure suckered me.

It's always wise to choose still sellers that value quality, have a 2-year warranty on their products and offer a 100% money back as well as a 60-day guarantee.
At the least, better to be safe than duped I think.

There are at least a half dozen sites that sell the same line of products as still drinkin. I think they are all the same people. They all do the same scam, take your money and you never hear from them again. If you do you just one excuse after the other and you still don't receive your order. The excuse I got from Jack was that his daughter had moved back home and had bedbugs and they had to move out of their house. The second was he had to pick up more shipping boxes. When you complain the first time they block your name and phone number so it goes to another numbers voice mail that is always full so you can't leave a message. Crooks from the word go. Some of the other sites - moonshinestillinc, bootleggerstills, turbostomper, distillingschool and a couple of more I can't remember. Check out who ever you are planning to deal with good before you do.

Kind of an odd coincedence after the post I placed Saturday night about crooked websites that I got a e-mail today (after 6 weeks) from Jack at Moonshinestillsinc saying that my order had shipped and had a usps.com tracking number with it. Itried to track the number and usps says they can't track it through their site. Thats the same thing that happened with the first number he sent me 6 wks ago. both are apparently fake #'s. I sent a reply to the e-mail I got today about it and he replied back that he would have to check on it when he went to the shop tomorrow(same as last time). His phone # 303-719-5040 (Colorado) his associate at distillingschool is Shirley and also Bootleggerstill.com and who knows how many others. Will be lucky if I hear from him again. Be careful if you do business with them.

Alrighty then! I read this epic thread from start to finish and just want to thank y'all for keeping it going. I am one seriously happy camper that I did my due diligence before pulling the trigger on one of these! I too was a bit put-off by the grammar, slamming of competitors and "half-nekkid gurls" (I have other sites for that kind of enlightenment!

) - something just didn't seem quite right. My daddy always told me if it seemed too good to be true...
Anyway, thanks much - off to read some more with a glass of "store-boughten" bourbon to aid in information absorption. I see a stop at the Big Blue Borg Store in the next day or so. Cheers!

Hello Friends, Dont buy your still from these sleezy con men. I hear bad stuff every day about these con men ripping people off on the internet. They figure who are you gonna complain to. They are the stuff on the bottom of your shoes when you go in a cattle field. There are a few reputable people out there and i know at least five that i can safely and with a good conscious recommend. Please dont buy until you talk to someone who has ordered and is happy with the quality of their purchase. The better stills can be ran in either potstill or reflux modes. You can build your own still for less than half of what it cost to buy a a ready made product. Remember only stainless and or copper only! Dont use aluminum! Any questions feel free to contact me. Stay safe and dont give your money to these trolls. Cornfed

I have bought three times from these guys in Portugal, and I am 100% satisfied.
Of course, like everywhere else, you get what you pay for. While all their stills look gorgeous in the photos, the Whisky still and the Charentais are really in a class of their own.
Shipping from Portugal to Scandinavia took roughly a week by Fedex or UPS economy.

I bought an oak barrel from these guys a while back. While I'am very satisfied with the purchase, the postage costs were OTT IMO.
Found a cheaper place here in the UK for the same product.
Off on holiday to Ukraine in June so I will be buying a couple of barrels there, super cheap...
