I was looking for a good place to add this, Tater's explanations seems to be a good place for the discussion.

I know Beaver DIY hangs with Jesse and a few more of the Usual Suspects on youtube.

I don't watch a lot of his stuff because to be honest, I have a pretty hard time understanding what the hell he's saying! :confusion-shrug:

But this popped up. I don't know how Beaver's sugars in South Africa differ compared to the US or whatever part of the world you're getting your sugar from.

But take a look and let me know your thoughts.

I would bet the sugars are different from country to country. Our light brown sugar muscovado has 8% molasses,our darker muscovado 10-15% ,while piloncillo is 10-15% but with a more intense flavor. US brown sugar is 3-5%>
