Yup -- good to be back on and kind of read up on the present mindset/happenings. Good to see some familiar faces and, of course, all the newbs (and THOSE questions) -- where would we be without newbs. (All you newbs, if you haven't yet, consider dropping a Jackson or two in the till -- Benjamins work too -- to help keep this invaluable resource running).

Like all mentioned, life happens and we find ourselves pulled in multiple directions. I'll be around. Thanks for the kind words.

Hi guys,
Life has been busy with work and commitments, just no time for hobby stuff, but I do pop in from time to time to see whats new here.
Did a search for me "decoy" and found a number of posts referencing my work/ideas.
It's a nice feeling to know my work has contributed, or motivated others ideas or work in advancing the hobby.

My main interests or focus was in energy efficiency and process streamlining.
Distillation of alcohol, on one hand is as simple as boiling water, and on the other, more complex then sending a man to the moon, with something new to learn with every step.
Over time I have seen many awesome and puzzling stills made by members, and I hope to see many more.

Anyway thanks for the warm fuzzy, of being remembered or thought of.
Just noticed, few more months and its going to be 10 years since i became a member here.

cheers.

I agree, I have been off and on for a little while now, and the crowd has changed a little. It's great to see the information pass in and in though.

I was wondering myself. I sent him a pm on the 7th to get in touch and it hasn't even been checked yet. Usually he is quick to reply. Hope everything is alright!

Nothing personal, but it does get boring. Also this a hobby that may not last for some people. Personally, I don't know when the next time I distill will be, maybe never. I have re-thought my relationship to alcohol, and my relationship to the internet, along with many other things that I believe it is healthy to review once in a while. And HD, and distilling itself, as good and fun as they are, can only take you so far. Other, more challenging hobbies come along. So maybe that is what happens to some people. And that is besides all the convoluted, distracting and sometimes unpleasant shit that happens in people's lives. And I'm very sorry to hear what is up with Mashrookie. That is a cruel thing to happen, and I hope he is able to keep his chin up through it.
My most challenging hobby is called Natiala. She's 22 blond and has huge tits.

Been wondering about Bearriver myself. Wanted to ask him a question about some stainless I bought off of him a couple years ago.

Amazing how these old threads pop up now and again.
I am wondering about my buddy "Frodo"
Now he wasn't a wealth of knowledge about stilling, but he sure as hell could make some good food.
I met him in Mississippi and his wife was very very sick at the time.
I hope they are both OK.......

He has not logged on in over 2 years. He is well into his 80's and I believe I heard he was losing his sight so it made it difficult for him to post.

Cranky is probably the closest to Bearriver, last time I saw him he was living with his wife and child at his dad's house. He was also looking for a new profession.
