TB, You definitely aint got NO dog in the fight BUT iffin you had been wearin a yellow tie she would of remembered it and every other detail of the engagement... Even iffin it had been 12 yrs ago... Can you imagin how smooth our distillations would have been with 12 years on the right oak..... It is amazing the memories of our SOH's.... they are better than oak !!!

Re: I live you, man...
Digging through my stash tonight I ran across an old dusty bottle labeled S3.
Not exactly sure what the recipe is anymore, but I know it was special, and I know that it's at least over a year old now.
I gotta say, everything y'all say about our whiskey getting better with age is true, this stuff tastes great! I'm going to have to set a bottle of this aside for very special occasions.
It got me ta thinkin about what a great group of folks this forum is, and I just wanted to stop off to say thanks to you all.
You have given me the opportunity to learn how to create a spirit I'm truly proud of and enjoy, and also provided a place where we can all come together to share this great experience.
So cheers to all of you I've met through your posts, to those I've had the great pleasure of meeting in person, and to any out there who's wild paths may cross with mine in the future.
I guess I just wanted to say it, 'cause I might not say it enough,
I lice you guys.

Re: I live you, man...
After some beers out on the town tonight I just wanted a little homemade to wind out the evening. I was digging through the shed and ran across a dust covered mason jar labeled “corn malt”. Well, it’s feckin delicious! Made it a loooong time ago and forgot it, but I have all ya here on the forum to thank for helping me make it.
I’ve got homemade booze tucked away in every corner at this point, enough to last out my remaining days, and I’ll try to remember to raise a toast to y’all for all the help as often as I can!

I think those corks are readily available.
At Home Brew Shops and probably on the net (which I don't have much to do with, it's confusing to oldies.)

Your post inspired me to go look in my shed and I found these I'm pretty sure they were full when I put the sticks in there something like 6 or 8 years ago but I leave the lids loose so there is evaporation. The middle one is so dark you can hardly see light through it. The one on the left has a Japanese maple domino in it. They all taste very good and I guess I should bottle them before I lose any more.MichiganCornhusker wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 5:42 pm After some beers out on the town tonight I just wanted a little homemade to wind out the evening. There was also this That's right, as the name implies that was a Cheez-It wash which is somewhat disappointing because the cheese flavor comes over in the deep tails so it doesn't work as hoped. I'm not sure how long ago that was, I'll have to check, I ran that off 5 years ago. I don't know why I never put any wood in that jar. It isn't a bad white dog but would be much better with wood.
