aslong as you have large blunt tools handy around the place you should be fine.

When I was a single man living in an apartment in New Orleans, I kept a bowling pin next to my bed. Never practiced my throwing skills, so I would either knock someone unconscious, or make a big hole in the wall if I ever had to use it.

Whatever you have to say about your laws I think the Swedish ones have you topped.

If a person is burgling my house and slips and falls on a un-sanded icy path he can bring you to court over his injury...

If you confront him in your house you have to ask him to leave before you can escalate to grabbing him by the collar and escorting him out.
you can not stop him from running out of your house if you confront him, if you were to wrestle him down and hold him down whilst waiting for the police you can be done for false imprisonment.
and it gets worse if you were to use a bat knife or gun to defend yourself.....

Wow swede that's kinda....civilized. Way I see it is im making booze and you break in my house...i ain't asking you to leave. And I damn sure ain't callin the cops. I own firearms and my house has a septic system.

I have been wearing hearing aids for the last 12 years and take them out at night. My wifes biggest fear is if someone breaks into the house as they would find us right away when she tried to wake me up.

Intimidating, but not a man stopper. Those dogs are bred to be livestock guardians. Wrong tool for the job. I'd go with a real guard dog if that's what is needed. There is a lot to be said about choosing the correct breed. The canine needs to be willing to "takedown" a person, hold them securely, and capable of knowing when it's appropriate (or not).

In the States the only easy to find and affordable breeds of guard dog are the German Shepherd, Doberman, Bull Mastiff, and Rottweiler. I'd go with the German Shepherd for an outdoor dog or a doberman for indoors.

I bred this dog for my father, who hasn't had anything stolen since. Her sister litter is due next month.

True story: The neighbor is getting ripped off by kids. Dad walks over and says ''what are you doing?" They tell him to get the *(&^% out of there... Yeah... So he comes back with a doberman and 1911. He told the teenagers to put their hands on the wall. They did. He told his dog to watch them. He did. Then pops walked home, called the cops, and sat down to watch television.

Cops show up half an hour later and ask him where the burglars are. So he tells them. To their amazement that dog was holding those 3 boys right there, one in need of new shorts. Had to tell the cops that the dog wasn't for sale.

You forgot Belgian Malinois. Awesome animals.

WOW! I've never heard of that breed before. Apparently the SEAL team that killed Bin Laden brought a Belgian Malinios dog named Cairo with for the mission. Awesome animal indeed.
