We see news articles on here from time to time of people that get busted, but it seems every single one I have read involved some obvious intent to distribute.

I wonder how many actual hobby level distillers who are only making for personal consumption have ever been busted, if any...?

I'm not a lawyer, but having sons I HAVE called one or two.
At the very least I imagine writing AT LEAST a few thousand dollar checks, losing all his stuff & having to deal with one really pissed off SWMBO.
Also wonder if he filed a claim on his homeowners for fire damage where illegal activity was taking place. That's if he got to keep the shed & his property. Explaining to the neighbors was probably the easiest part of it.

Several years ago, I needed to get fingerprinted for some papers. They sent me to the Sheriff's Department in a small town in Alabama.
Their fingerprinting machine was down next to their holding cells. They were empty but it still made me nervous as hell.
Not a situation I'd like to repeat, especially if they wanted to put me on the other side of those bars.

Different laws in in different places but as far as the feds are concerned in North Carolina 1st time is a hand slapping. What ya have on hand can be used to get tax money outta you .I know a fella that got caught with a beer keg still.Did same to him as first time fella they caught with a large still. Was sentence to 18 months prayer judgement and fine. Think fine was 125 bucks and court coast year probation

12" glasser
What a nightmare... no homework and china strikes again...
They will regret that down the track
No CIP, quite a few hours to clean each of those columns I recon
Plate height looks to be all of 4" - its going to only be able to run as fast as a well built 6 or 8" ?
12" plates held up by a thin strip of silicon around the edges, that aint going to last long before the plates leak
Stuck up in the air where you cant even see it, if it was for display purposes, wasted

Sigh

Breast implants are real - but those aren't real breasts.

Moonshiners are real - but those aren't real moonshiners.

For many many years
I've felt that if I - WRONGLY - placed my hands on breasts with implants,

that "but dear, THOSE weren't real" would NOT be an adequate explanation.

I think some of the people have a history of getting in trouble with the law for making illegal liquor, but for the most part it is just entertainment.
