Shadys should be settled enough after a couple of days without any help.
Sugar shine flocculates fast when the yeast runs out of everything and then the temp drops.
Haven't tried bentonite yet.
I figure anything that clears a sugar wash quicker and cleaner before distilling is likely a good idea.
So the wash is fine no need to clear up any mess. I do agree with the sentiment Saltbush Bill, less is more.
I have two "identical" washes side by side. I am going to add Bentonite to the one and keep the other as the control. I think it may be an interesting experiment, will post in a new thread.

Each 50l wash consumed 75g of Oyster shell. I weighed before and after.
I abandoned my Bentonite experiment as I should have added 2 heaped tbls and not 2 heaped tsp. So next time for self edification I will do the experiment.
For those who tire of giving the same advice take courage. This wash is by far the finest I have made, it is quite unlike the others that I have made, as I sample through the course of the first striping run I notice the absence of "offish" aroma's previously present in other washes, there is a sweetness not present in other washes and the product is totally palatable after the strip, where other washes had a nastier nose and were less palatable.
So a shoutout to those who tirelessly help the new initiates to the craft, without you guys tirelessly helping I would not have the results I have today. Thanks.
