I was thinking, if you are doing things in a hot shed or garage, You could use a peltier cooler to cause temperature cycling also. For the vibrations, you could use a combination of cell phone vibrators... One thing to keep in mind they are not meant to run contentiously. Might heat up. I was thinking you could use 2 pieces of plywood to clamp say 12 jars in. Then drill say 1" holes in the bottom pieces of plywood so that it fits loosely over 1/2" down to stop things moving. You could even use para-cord to keep it centered... then mount 1 bigger vibration generating piece on the top and then all jars would be vibrated at the same rate. Then if this was in a insulated box a peltier cooler could be programmed to to turn on and off and add heat/cold age/distressing on top of it..

Now back to thinking like a kid LMFAO!!!

I did a side by side recently, and see no difference, with my experiment. More variables needed perhaps, heat, oxygen, pressure? TIME haha.

I notice Oden mentions in several posts about using ultrasonics on his whiskey. I am wondering if its a frequency thing. Maybe the frequency of the vibration is too low, or not just right. I looked around and the frequency varies greatly from 25 kHz to 1 MHz. Cell phone type vibrators are only about 151 Hz to 180 Hz... Not sure of an actually vibrator... but I expect they as fairly low frequency.

I want to do some aging experiments but still in building phase for my still (will post a thread when I get al the parts and start a build. Got a 15g sanke keg for my boiler). Hopefully I can join in some of the experiments once I am done. Wife is going to roller her eyes at me lol

I rented a new concrete vibrator and put one of my condoms on the last foot of it then placed it in my Cornelius keg of corn likker and turned it on. Spent about 20 minutes for I had to stop. My damn hands grew numb right up past my shoulders into my neck. It was such a high frequency that it vibrated the whiskey up the shaft and rained it out onto the floor. I tried to keep what splashed onto my arms licked off trying to determine if it was working or not. Then my mouth went numb as did my head. Lost damned near a gallon and a half to the angels share in twenty minutes from an otherwise non-angel stealing proof environment. It did however have a distinct flavor reminescent of strawberries as I lubed the latex with something from the bedroom to protect it from contact with the ethanol.
As for my opinion vibrator aging isnt worth a damn!
