Excuse me because I'm Canadian but...how do you make sweet tea then? Since a little fart on the farm I've had tea with sugar in it, I assumed that was the same as "sweet tea", no??

If eating something sweet (donut etc) I don't put sugar in my tea, but if having tea by itself I always add sugar. Yeah the wife says I'm weird too.

I ain't from the South but up North it kinda goes like this.

For a gallon is to heat about a 1/3 gallon of your water, then steep the tea bags, 12 or so, for a few minutes, doesn't take long, to long and it just isn't right. Add sugar to the hot mix to your liking. Top it off with the rest of the water. Put it in the fridge until cold, colder the better. Server over ice with a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint or both.

I'm Canadian and love my ice tea (sweet tea). I make up a big pitcher in the summer and keep it in the fridge. Sometimes i'll add some mint to it (i make mint syrup to add . . . boil water, add to mint leaves and sugar, let steep, strain). Sun tea is good too . . . dunno what it is, but does something different . . . half gallon mason set out in sun with a tea bag and water for an afternoon . . . mmmmmmmmmmm!

sweet tea.

lipton family size tea bags 2
1/2 gallon water bring to boil
add 1/4 cup sugar, 2 tea bags
let it steep
add 1/2 gallon water
put in the fridge.

or, you can use cane sugar, brown sugar
we use regular ole white sugar

we keep 2 gallon pitchers in the fridge, 1 sweet for us
the unsweet, cause my sister is a weirdo likes it unsweet
