Breakfast options are actually pretty good there but I had different plans. I made my special trade marked eggs benedict prior to leaving the house bright and early...ok maybe dark and early  certainly early :tired: and wrapped it up so it would stay warm and showed up an hour before visiting hours, walked in like I owned the place, didn't check in with anybody and went straight to her room and we had breakfast together.

That is so incredible. Made me laugh. We need more of this, do what needs to be done and damn the petty rules and tyrants. Not that you didn't before for your incredible fruit related posts, but you have my respect in other areas now. Congratulations and may the Mrs. heal quickly.

Great news Cranky, we are in Hawaii and my wife can hardly do anything so I am doing a lot of the site seeing without her. We are still waiting for her to get scheduled for hip surgery.

Cranky,

Awesome news. Super glad everything went well. Amen to bone broth. Never underestimate the healing power of soup.
If in doubt leave it out.

I'm late as usual, but glad to hear everything is working out for Mrs. Cranky and yourself. Hopefully Mrs. Bushman will get her hip fixed in a timely manner also. Our thoughts will be with you.

I certainly do not want to sound fatalistic in this comment by any means. But cancer was a different story.
When my late wife was in hospital, I did the same thing. Showed up at hospital every morning with breakfast, laundered PJ's and quilt for her bed.
I got a smile every morning when there wasn't much to smile about. Hospital staff never gave me a second glance when I walked in.
I'm happy you and Mrs Cranky have this part of the journey over with.
Onwards and upwards.

Cranky, happy to hear the good news about mrs. Cranky. :-).

And regarding the broth.... sounds like a scorch. Maybe a bit more time settling before they cook it. Have them heat as soon as it is poured into the kettle and agitate the charge while coming up to temp. ;-)

Thank you everybody. We are very touched by your comments :D

This has been a long unpleasant experience and we are kind of to the point of mental exhaustion on it. Mrs Cranky is actually feeling better than she has in 2 years. The pain from the surgery is just pain now and will fade with time. Now the big problem is trying to keep her from overdoing it for the next few months but I'll take that over what we had before any day.

What a Prince you are to take your wife to Hawaii to recoup. I think good things for her often. I was sorry to hear she cant get out for sightseeing much but hope she has a beautiful view to gaze at as she recuperates.
Wishing you both a plethora of amazing sunsets

Thank you, we are here for 15 days and she keeps hoping that she gets a call and they have scheduled her surgery. We are taking our kids, their spouses and our granddaughter to Norway this summer and she wants time to recoup.

Dude sorry for you issues, hope all works out well for you and the Mrs. I have the same issue with my wife and feel your pain. Just like the wedding vows say, " for sickness and health". Your love will make it right so hang in there things will work out one way or another. I'm sending you prayers.

My wife finally has a date set for her operation May 12th. I am hoping for a speedy recovery although in the past she seems to take longer to recoup. It will be nice to have my wife back able to do her daily routines.

Thanks I probably should have started my own thread but since I posted earlier as Mrs. Cranky and my wife seemed to be having issues at the same time I continued on with this thread. The neighbor just loaned us a stationary bike for her recovery rehab and a walker to use during her recovery. Nice living in an area with good neighbors.

Mrs Cranky is now feeling better than she has in a long time. The big problem I'm having now is trying to keep her from overdoing it until the doctor gives her the OK... that and trying to keep up with her now that she feels better

Good news indeed, Cranky. Kudos to both of you for getting through this together. You make a great team.
