I'm just curious if any of you all do metal spinning. I have been watching videos on You Tube and it looks fascinating. I can't help in thinking how this could be used to make some great still parts.

My new 5" orb was spun.

It was so friggin beautiful when I opened the packaging, I got a tickle.

Bill cut my holes and soldered the nipples to prep for the union installtion.

His work is superb, My work is,,,,,,,with out leaks.

The wall thickness seems to be as thick as copper tubing. It is a very solid peice.

I am definitely going to have some dialog with those good folks when I further plan for my all copper thumper. If he can help me engineer a good lid solution for my ever evolving plan, then I will definitely charge him with the task.

Have been dabbling in it, but don't have a good source for copper or untemperred aluminium sheet. Pay almost as much in shipping as I would for the small sheets.
Have a couple of forms turned. Just need something to wrap around them.

Yes, stainless can be spun, but it would need to be done on a metal lathe to be able to apply enough pressure. Copper and non-tempered aluminum is easy to spin on a wood lathe.
Finally bit the bullet and ordered some copper sheet, should be here this afternoon.
After I get the parts cut for the still, thumper and flake stand, I should have enough left to do the spinning I wanted.
