What actor looks like Uncle Jesse?

The guy usualy wore overalls and had a beard. He played supporting actor rolls like strother marrtin and sometimes had bumbling almost grownup
children ard..

Think he was in Gunsmoke many times,,

The actor who played Uncle Jessie was Denver Pyle. He was in the Dukes of Hazard.

He died back in 1997.

Oh i see..A poster just calls himself Uncle Jesse and uses his pic. Weird.

funny u shld mention the dukes of hazard show. I was in the very 1st episode in the Hog's Head bar out in Convington east of Atlanta.

It was the shooting of the very first show and we were extras..I was there at the very first bar scenes in a red shirt. Got right friendly with daisy..I attended the shots ard Atlanta too. The ones at the recording studio. I had lunch with the whole cast and Sorrell Booke was quite the character with his command of so many different US dialetcs.

Oh well..the good ole days..

Come on now, how could we not include Denvers 1st (for me anyway) memorable character. Briscoe Darling. I'm pretty sure he did a little shinnin' too. :wink:

yeah "The Andy Griffith Show" he was the Father of Charlene and The Boys, a damn good bluegrass band known to the world as The Dillards. I'm quite sure Virginia Gentleman knows of them.

Sure do know them, TH. Very solid band, toured a little with rock bands even.
