First time aging

I'm distilling my 2nd batch of whiskey this weekend but am experimenting with aging it for the first time. I just bought medium toast oak chips.

How much of the wood chips do I put in a pint mason jar? The chips I got from brewhaus are pretty small.

Do I put the chips directly in the whiskey or wrap them in something like cheese cloth?

Any suggestions on how long to leave the chips in?

Be carefull not to overoak as this will destroy the natural flavours of your product.

Dont over do it. A little goes a long way. less oak more time. You can alwase add more latter but you cant go back.
