DEAD YEAST?

Post by Nalis »

Ok.... I followed uncle Jessie's recipe to the letter! It's been two days (nights really) and I havn't seen the first bubble come thru the air lock.(yes I have no life and am looking for some time) As I do a lot of bread and baking I know that I didn't kill the yeast. I always air on the safe side with a lower temp to bloom the yeast. I am using yeast from a fairly good source that keeps all their perishable brewing supplies in a walking cooler. What should I do? I have bakers yeast that I know is good but don't want to throw that into the mix? Any ideas? I even popped the top this morning to smell and taste it..... nothing. :( :?

P.S.
The yeast is called Safale US-o5 / dry ale yeast
