ageing with hickory

well i charred some hickory about 2 weeks ago and put it in a 1/2 gallon of 120prf and i checked it today and it was very dark so i put through a few coffe filters and am going to cut the proof down to about 80 tonight and try it, smells good but we will see,ill post pics after i cutit

well i cut it down to 80 prf and man this is really good !!!! I been drinkin it for 2 nights in a row with dr pepper .....when i put it in it was 120prf came out 130prf.....wow, like my mentor and freind rad said, expirement and you find a good balance , thanx to every one whos helped me out down the path.

I too aged some with charred hickory several weeks ago.
I got it out a few nights ago and had some shots.
It was magnificent if I must say so.
Amber/Brown with hickory flavor on tongue and bourbon flavor in throat.
I will be repeating this process again!

yes me as well bud.
This time was my first aging / hickory run and it was sort of trial and error.
Next time I plan on documenting the process in detail so I can repeat when ever the urge strikes me.
And possibly share it to others as well if anyone is interested
