A question about "why make sugarwash?"

The only way to get an answer to a dumb question is to ask it even if you are embarrassed. OK ...here goes....Why do people make sugar washes...neutral spirits? Do they always add some store bought flavor (like Jack Daniels flavoring) or do they like that vodka-like taste anyway? I know a lot of you do that. You have these reflux stills. That means a lot of you don't make likker for the "Flavor of it"...right? I need someone to tell me if you add a flavor or drink it like it is (which I think is gross----just my opinion). If you are not using grain, you ain't getting whiskey..so what am I missing here. I have been wanting to ask this questiion forever........Thanks
Moonshine ain't nothing but lots of love and goodness distilled into liquid. It will love you like a big woman wearing a straw hat
