We are located in Asia and have 1,000 gallons/day of a Sugar solution available to us for production of Fuel Grade Ethanol.
We think we could set up a small production Plant for this by-product sugar solution are wondering IF you can assist us in sizing the Plant??
IF SO, we have the following questions:...
1.> Because there is no starch present, is the enzyme step for conversion of Starch still required.? Or, can we just use Yeast directly.?
2.> What amout of ETOH (Gal./Day) can we expect IF the solution contains a minimum of 15% Sugar.?
3.> We realize to size this plant would be larger than available equipment for Private or Home Stills. However, can you give us some idea as to the size of Plant/Still required for us to handle this production. (Eg. Suggested Specs for Boiler, Reflux & Distillation, Waste Treatment & Power).??
4.> IF you can't provide suggested specifications, can you direct us to someone who can assist us in obtaining these Specs.??
5.> We've been told to expect from US$1.00-US$4.00 per Gal. ETOH produced as an overall Capital Investment cost. This seems like too broad a range for preparing a proposal to management. What can we expect as a Capital cost to set up a plant to handle this by-product sugar solution to produce Fuel Grade Ethanol.??
