Hi Guys,
Quick question; I have just started running two 50lt batches of Winos sugar wash. I have got all the ingredients as specified and made sure all are identical with the exception of the yeast.
In one batch i am using an Edmonds (local brand) bakers yeast and in the second I am using a Spiritbrew Turbo yeast "classic" .
This is day two of the ferment and I have noticed that apart from the turbo yeast off gasing significantly more CO2 the temperature is also staying much higher than I was expecting.
Using the same insulation and electric blanket I am finding that the turbo stays at about 10 degrees C higher than the bakers yeast batch.
Turbo is at about 35 degrees C
Bakers is at about 25 degrees C
Is this normal for a turbo yeast?

If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got
