Cheerios for nutrients

I did a 1/2 gallon sugar wash to see if some distiller yeast I had was still good. Didnt have tomato paste or grain type cereal. I boiled down some Cheerios and used them in the wash.
The batch has been working away for a week so it appears my yeast is still good. I read the ingredants on the box, lots of B complex and the list goes on and on. My question is any reason why a fortified cereal like Cheerios wont work as nutrients and will all these add ons in the cereal create problems?
