need a little direction!

I have successfully built what I beleive to be a good pot still, and i started running my sugar wash last week. Since I have alot of wash I am doing stripping runs (first time through) do I need to worry about "cuts" on this run other than tossing the first 250 ml that comes out, or do I start trying to do cuts when I do my spirit run? just a little confused in this area although i have picked up alot of good info on here in a hurry! thanks fellers...
