Please leave me any comments, tips, and/or critiques. I am new to this wonderful art and I'm trying to learn all I can.
I started with a Sugar Wash recipe, but slightly modified it. I boiled 5 lbs. sugar topped with water. Using a blender, I pureed 6 large cans of ripe cling peaches in heavy syrup, and one can tart cherries in syrup. Dumped everything into my clean 5 gallon bucket and topped it of with the sugar water. After it cooled down, I pitched a tablespoon of Fleischmann's bread yeast on top and stirred it in. The cherries and peaches contain only fruit, water, and corn syrup (no preservitives) With in an hour, my air lock is bubbling, with in four hours it's roaring.
Will the bread yeast create a harsh flavor? Maybe too much sugar? Well, we'll see what happends!
