After 10 years of use, I would like to give my coil a perfect clean.I usually clean it with water but I think there is some smell remaining. I tried to pass an electrician spiral steel through, with a brass, but couldn't.
My coil is from ss , one inch internall diameter.
Any ideas??

Dilute phosphoric acid, about 15%, should be enough. Soak overnight.
Can usually buy it from hardware stores.
Use safety glasses and gloves.

If you are in OZ its marketed under the "RANEX" name, and obtainable from Bunnings

If you can find it, try some TSP (tri-sodium phosphate). My local hardware store had some and it works really well for removing oils. Doesn't polish much, but certainly cleans it really well. Then a good rinse, and you've got some nice clean coils.

Thanks for that, OD. On my list for the next time we visit Bunnings. My rig must be crying out for a bloody good cleaning.
