Any of you fellers ever take a ride to Belle Glade for cane juice?
They are processing now and I wish I had an inside source.
New crop is already sprouted.

If I were in FL, I wouldn't get my ass on the road right now to save my life. No where is safe, we've sent thousands of our finest down there for Superbowl Sunday and not one of them's gonna ask for any directions so I expect some of the end up in Cuba by Tuesday. Just for the record, not all us Louisianaians are like that. My condolences to FL, you'll never be the same.
15 gallon pot still, 2"x18" column with liebeg condensor on propane.

I would be nice to be able to go there and get a drum or two of Blackstrap molasses. If you have big enough containers they will deliver molasses to you, but you need big tanks, at least a couple thousand gallons.
I'm not sure about getting straight cane juice from them though.
What's it ferment out like? My brother said some of the hardest shine he ever tasted was cooked from cane juice.

Sounds like a traditional Cachaca.UnclePaul wrote:My brother said some of the hardest shine he ever tasted was cooked from cane juice.
Cane juice, no cuts, and no aging.
That would not be my approach.
