a lot to learn

hi, have been lurking just a week, i am 56 years old single and live in timaru , new zealand. i purchased a still spirits super reflux still connected it to a garden hose two 44 gallon drums for the water and thought i was made. made a brew it poured out of the still in two hours, put it through again not so smelly as first time, brought a vertaflo carbon filter another 80 bucks , thought i was doing well , still was so smelly tipped on the weeds washed everything in bottlewash and have decided to start all over again , 800 bucks nearly wasted, untill a saw kiwis post how to fix a cm still, i must have read it 20 times, ok all great place great ppl and i just wish i had looked here first, thank you, neville

Welcome buzzybee, Lots of reading will make the process easier, the reading lounge is a good place to start. :D
